There are two ways to update your computer password:

  1. Use this one if you are on-campus or are able to come to campus
    1. If you are using a laptop, plug an ethernet cable into the laptop while it is still turned off
    2. Turn on the computer and create a new password
    3. If you have a desktop computer you just restart the computer and create a new password.
  2. Use this one if you are working off-campus (this works for laptops and desktops)
    1. Log in with your old password
    2. Connect to the CSU server on Global Protect
    3. A windows notification will pop up in the bottom right corner o the screen, it will look like this:

                d. The notification is very fast and you probably won’t be able to read it all, but when it shows up, hold down the Windows key and the L key, this will lock your computer and allow you to create a new password

  1. If you have changed your password and your computer isn’t letting you log in with your new or old password:
    1. Disconnect from the ethernet or wifi
    2. Shut down the computer
    3. Turn your computer back on but don’t log back into wifi or ethernet yet
    4. Follow the steps for option 2 again

  • It may take Microsoft products (teams, outlook, etc.) a little while to sync the password change, it could take anywhere from half an hour to a couple of hours
